QLC
So it's called Quarter-Life Crisis. Finally, I've found the right term.
Admittedly, I'm going through this QLC thingy. I prefer not to further elaborate. I'm not abnormal if I experience this period in my life, am I?
*sigh*
I need a vision.

Searching For...
Upon looking at the post-its and some notes penned on my planner during lunch at my office desk today, a realization hit me:
I have been too busy searching for things that will make me happy, but not the things that will bring me joy...

SonicFlood
SonicFlood's concert is moved on
August 15 from the initial schedule of June 13, for reasons I still do not know.
Same time,
8:00 PM and same venue,
Araneta Coliseum.
Now I have more time to save for the ticket. Hihi!
And because I am so excited already about the concert, I searched for their famous and astig version of
I Want To Know You from their second album,
SonicPraise.
I didn't only find the studio recording of the song, I also got the acoustic version and the live version
, which are also both creatively done.
Trivia: The present SonicFlood is no longer composed of the original members who all left the band in 2000. SonicPraise was recorded by the original SonicFlood members but was released only after the "new" band was formed. The song's energy remained in the acoustic version despite minimal use of electric sound save for the bass which also sounded acoustic. The band can also be identified for their heavy use of the bass sound, which is evident in the live version in which they tweaked a bit the bassline compared to the studio record, maintaining the power of the song but making it musically artistic.
I'm now going to have a new set of album collection aside from Jars of Clay because my SonicFlood mp3s were only downloaded from the net.
Hope their first 2 albums are still available!
So excited already for August 15!

I have an 11-year-old crush!
Hindi po ito pedophilia. Hehe!
Ito ay simpleng paghanga lamang sa isang munting bata. Haha!
Ganito kasi yun. Umuwi kami ng brother ko sa province nung Saturday and our parents fetched us to come with them to visit our tita's resto sa Freedom Park sa Cabanatuan. Habang nagdi-dinner kami, sinabihan ako ng tita ko kung pwede ako mag-judge ng battle of the bands that night at that place because she also happened to be one of the event organizers. Bigla ata hindi naging available yung isang judge na nakuha nila. My mom was actually the one invited kaya lang wala daw siyang alam sa music kaya ako ang isinangkalan niya. Hehe! So yun, napasubo ako. Haha!
There were 8 bands who competed and there was this 11-year-old kid named Isaac (in-introduce siya nung vocalist nila) from one competing band who plays the lead guitar awesomely! Grabe, ang galing sobra! Kung hindi mo siya napapanood, you wouldn't believe that one of that band's lead guitarists is just an incoming fifth grader na mags-start na ang klase tomorrow! His parents must be so proud of him! Sana magka-anak din ako ng ganun! Haha! And their band was really great! Pumasok nga sila sa elimination eh.
Meron ding isang band, which was my number one choice, na sobrang galing. The band was just composed of three members: the lead guitarist, the bassist and the drummer who is also the vocalist. Buong-buo yung tunog nila, walang sabit. They actually sound professional. Very impressive! Ewan ko kung anong klaseng mga daliri meron yung gitarista at bahista nila, ang lupet!!! At yung vocalist, buong-buo din yung boses, parang hindi nagda-drums eh! And I particularly liked the way he interacted with the audience while singing and drumming at the same time, kahit nakaupo lang siya. Hindi din "typical rakista" yung look nila, in fact they look quite formal compared to other bands. Lalo na yung lead guitarist. Ahehe!
There was a tie for the last 2 bands na pumasok to compete for the finals. One has a good drummer, cool na cool, effortless ang pagpalo. Medyo madami yung members nila, may keyboardist and they have 2 vocalists (taga-growl yung isa
) pero maganda yung tunog nila. And the other one has a good-looking vocalist. Hehe! Amazing voice, parang boses from a foreign rock band. Okay din ang tunog nila, hindi sabog and maganda yung coordination.
So yun ang kwento ng isang babaeng napadaan lang galing Manila at nahilang mag-judge ng competition. Hehe! Pero amazing talaga yung bata!

Here In My Life
I first heard this song at Hillsong United's concert in Araneta Coliseum last May 26. This one is from their album Saviour King. Such a powerful song. Moving. Real.
Here In My LifeHillsong UnitedI have never walked on water
Felt the waves beneath my feet
But at Your word Lord
I'll receive Your faith to walk on oceans deep
And I remember how You found me In that very same place All my failings surely would have drowned me Still You made a way Chorus:
You are my freedom
Jesus You're the reason
I'm kneeling again at Your throne
Where would I be without You Here in my life Here in my life
You have said that all the heavens
Sing for joy at one who finds the
Way to freedom truth of Jesus
Brought from death into this life
And I remember how You saw me Through the eyes of Your grace And though the price was Your beloved for me Still You made a way

5 Candles
Five Candles (You Were There)
Jars of Clay
A promise or a dare
I would jump if I knew you'd catch me
Staring over the edge
I can't tell if you'll be here for me
I close my eyes and make a wish
Turn out the lights and take a breath
Pray that when the wick is burned
You would say that it's all about love
Chorus:
You were there when I needed you
You were there when the skies broke wide, wide open
You were there when I needed you
You were there when the skies broke wide, wide open
You were never here
I remember you said
Love was more than your good intentions
Empty boxes on the floor
Things I never asked you for
I pray that when the wick is burned
You would say that it's all about love
I can't see the promise of
Excuses you fall upon
I pray to God not holding on
To things you've left undone
You were there when I
You were there when I
You were there when I needed you
