July 18, 2005 around 4:00 in the afternoon
I and Joey met up in the RCBC Plaza in Makati. I asked him to accompany me in submitting my resume to companies in Buendia and Makati Ave. area. First destination: The World Center Building along Buendia. From the RCBC Plaza, we took a ride on a jeep and stopped at The World Center. Mission 1 accomlpished. Next destination: The Pacific Star Building in Makati Ave. This is when the adventure began. I was wearing a pair of 2-inch heels when we started walking our way to Pacific Star. We reached the place and Mission 2 was completed. The third and final stop was indeed a very memorable journey - thus, a walk worth remembering...
We were looking for a certain Century Citadel Building located at P. Burgos St. adjacent to Makati Ave. According to my beloved brother, P. Burgos St. is a 700-meter walk from the intersection of Buendia and Makati Ave. At the end of the long walk is a bank and at the right side lies P. Burgos. I trusted my brother very much so I told Joey to do what my bro instructed me.
We tracked down Makati Ave. and after that long walk we finally spotted the bank that my brother was talking about. We then found P. Burgos St. We looked around the area first and began to wonder why there isn't any tall buliding there. Despite our confusion, we kept on walking hoping that somewhere along the way, we would find Century Citadel. After traversing several streets as well as different nightclubs (ay oo, mala-Las Vegas nga e! hehe! sabi ko nga dun na lang ako mag-aapply! wahaha! :p ), we finally located the building at the end of the alley. Much to our disappointment, after walking soooooo far, wala doon ang office ng company na hinahanap namin! Pero sige, OK lang, fine, wala dun. So we left the place. Lumakad kami until we reached another road. Again we looked around to know where we were. Guess what we saw? YUNG PACIFIC STAR BUILDING! nyahaha! Susme, napakahaba ng nilakad namin, sumakit ang paa namin only to find out that Century Citadel is nearby Pacific Star! Tumawa na lang kami ng tumawa sa ke-engotan na un! hehe! Sabi nga ni Joey, "Kahit bumato ako ng nilukot na papel from Pacific Star eh aabot sa Century Citadel!" wahaha! :)
And by that time, the sky was already dark. We decided to go to Glorietta. Yung jeep na nasakyan namin, kumakanan pala sa Ayala Ave. Di ba masyadong organized ang traffic sa Ayala so doon pa kami nakababa sa may Paseo de Roxas. We had no choice. We had to walk back to Makati Ave papuntang Landmark. Lakad na naman! When we reached the underpass in Paseo, the rain poured hard. OK, adventure talaga... Buti na lang may dala kaming payong! hehe! :D
Ang saya di ba...hehe! I will never forget that veeeery funny experience...That was indeed A Walk to Remember... ;)
